Bring up ageism and out comes it comes — it’s the one insult that’s considered socially acceptable. It’s like watching an old movie where women, blacks, Native Americans or Chinese were assumed inferior. Only it’s here and now, in 2010.

- I’m sure I’m already experiencing ageism as a 39 year old programmer - so much so that I’ve removed my DOB from my CV. The thing is, not only am I still staying at the cutting edge (RoR, iPhone, etc), but I feel like I’m only just hitting my stride. In any other profession, someone with 20 years experience would be considered a highly desirable expert, not someone who’s past it.
